Racetrack Basics & Beginner Horsemanship

Service Description

Racetrack Basics lessons are designed for students who are new to horses, new to the racing industry, or simply aren’t sure which direction they want to pursue yet. Students will learn foundational skills such as safely approaching and handling horses, leading, grooming, basic horse care, identifying common racetrack tack and equipment, barn safety, and everyday racing terminology and routines. These lessons also give students exposure to the different roles within a racing stable, including grooming, hotwalking, galloping, ponying, and barn management, so they can begin discovering where their interests and strengths may fit. As you become more comfortable and confident, your lessons can naturally transition into the area you want to pursue more seriously. There is no set number of lessons or fixed timeline. Whether you are completely new to horses or simply new to the racetrack environment, we meet you where you are and build from there.
