Service Description

Hotwalker lessons are designed for students who want to learn the basic horse-handling skills used every day in a Thoroughbred racing barn. Students will learn how to safely catch, lead, walk, cool out, and handle racehorses before and after training. Lessons may also include proper use of a shank, recognizing a horse’s behavior and body language, understanding barn and track routines, basic grooming, bathing, and learning what to watch for while a horse is cooling out. As you progress, we’ll introduce different horses, situations, and responsibilities so you can become more confident handling Thoroughbreds safely and effectively. There is no set number of lessons or fixed timeline. You choose how often you come, and each lesson builds on your experience and comfort level. Whether you are completely new to horses or preparing for your first job on the racetrack, we meet you where you are and build from there.
