About the event
Iron Rose Academy is excited to partner with Darrin Cain and HighPointe Farm & Training Center for a two-day clinic focused specifically on the practical skills of ponying and outriding.
This clinic is designed to give participants hands-on experience in a controlled environment before progressing into more realistic track-based situations. Using both the indoor arena and training track at HighPointe Training Center in La Grange, Kentucky, riders will work through the skills, positioning, communication, and decision-making required when handling horses on the racetrack.
Saturday will focus heavily on ponying. Participants will work on safely picking up and releasing horses, maintaining proper position alongside another horse, controlling two horses at once, changing sides, handling horses that crowd, pull, lag behind, or become strong, and then applying those skills on the training track.

Horse Admission
This ticket is required for each participant bringing their own horse to the Ponying & Outriding Clinic. Horse admission is separate from the $150 rider registration and must be purchased in addition to your clinic ticket. Horse registration deadline: September 19 All horses entering the property must have: A current negative Coggins & current health certificate Please purchase one Horse Admission ticket for each horse you plan to bring so we can provide an accurate head count.
